Attorney Joe Piscitello is founding principal of Piscitello Law and brings 30 years of experience as a personal injury law firm in the Delaware Valley region. He has successfully handled thousands of legal cases in Pennsylvania and has litigated issues in the U.S. Court of Appeals.
Over the last decade, Joe specialized in the field of cycling law, representing cyclists involved in both catastrophic and common bike crashes. In August 2017 the attorney was invited to join the prestigious Bike Law Network of 20 attorneys across the U.S. and Canada. Piscitello Law was named Bike Law Pennsylvania in addition to Bike Law New Jersey.
Bike Law was started in 2000 by an attorney in South Carolina after his brother suffered a fatal bike crash and this area of law was not well understood. The network encourages collaboration and sharing best practices in cycling law. The need for a national network of cycling attorneys is clear as cyclists die in car crashes across the country at alarming rates. In Philadelphia alone, close to 100 cyclists die annually in these recurring and avoidable events. Much work remains to be done to reduce bicycle crash deaths to zero; the mission of the Vision Zero movement in the U.S. and abroad. Piscitello Law is currently working with the Philadelphia Alliance for Vision Zero on issues of law, infrastructure, education and enforcement.
Piscitello is also an active member of the Philadelphia Bicycle Coalition and serves on the Advisory Board of the Coalition’s urban youth cycling program. The Bike Coalition recognized his service in 2016 and named him as one of their top “Paceline Supporters” of the organization.
Joe is proud to be a founding member of PA Masters and Piscitello Law is honored to be a team sponsor from the beginning. Joe is honored to be part of this competitive and fun group of cyclists. PA Masters has become a wonderful family over the years.
