Geoff found cycling at 12 years old after borrowing a friends bike and entering the local criterium races in Dallas. He worked in local bike shops to support his racing habit through high school and college. Geoff competed in both road and MTB collegiate events for the University of Texas, San Marcos and then the University of New Mexico.
During the summer breaks, Geoff traveled all throughout the US competing in the NORBA National Series in California, Washington, Colorado, Vermont, and Pennsylvania, winning the Expert 19-29 overall series before turning Semi-Pro.
In 1998, Geoff had the opportunity to race for a team in Grenoble, France and raced National MTB events in Paris and Southern France, winning several local road and MTB races.
After returning to New Mexico in 2000, Geoff finished 2nd overall in the New Mexico road series. He competed in several stage races including the Tour de Gila, MTB stage races in Mexico, the Tour of Los Alamos.
In 2003, Geoff move to Basking Ridge, NJ and raced for the Elite development team for the Navigators Professional team. He raced in support of his Pro teammates in local races in NJ and NY.
In 2005 Geoff moved to West Chester, PA to start a consulting company specializing in IT work for Pharmaceutical companies. He raced many local road and MTB races and attended MTB Nationals in 2013 and 2014 at Bear Creek, finishing 6th in 2014.
Geoff has the support of his lovely wife Jennifer Parcella Smith and future racing prodigy 6 year old twins Leo and Marissa.
