Upon graduation, I moved to Philadelphia to row at Vesper Boat Club. Whilst in Philadelphia, along with competing as a rower, I started coaching rowing. Coaching became a fulltime profession in 1989 where I took the head coaching job at Washington University (St Louis, MO – 1989-1994). In the summer months I coached in Philadelphia at Vesper Boat Club and Penn Athletic Club as club coach and US National Team coach. In 1991, I coached the US National Team men’s lightweight 4- at the Pan Am Games in Havana Cuba. In 1992, I coached the US National Team men’s 2+ at the Olympic Games in Barcelona Spain. In 1993, I was interim summer head coach at Penn AC in Philadelphia coaching intermediate to elite teams. In 1994 I moved to Austin TX. I coached rowing at the Austin Rowing Club and took my first professional job outside of coaching, taking a sales position for a systems integrator Data Recognition. I worked at DRI for 5 years selling barcode and printing systems with applications related to data collection.
In 1999 my wife and I moved back to Philadelphia, taking a sales position for a largest manufacturer of barcode and data collection systems. I worked at Motorola Solutions from 1999 – 2015 as an enterprise account manager selling their full product suite into commercial / industrial space.
In 2015 I was recruited by Cradlepoint, a start-up manufacturer of 4G LTE routing and software product for the IoT space. I worked as an enterprise account manager and territory manager. In 2017 I was recruited to help a start-up renewable energy company in Perth Australia.
